My name is Elran Oded, and I am a 30 year old serial entrepreneur.

Right now, I run several moderately successful businesses including TouchBasic Networks (web services and consulting) and PC Cruiser Ent. Inc. (computer repairs). I am also the Co-founder of Indyish.com (an artists network) and server administrator for sites including: wornjournal.com, actaeonphoto.com, openjournalmontreal.com, and several others. Since I have access to a virtually limitless supply of web hosting through my work, I thought it would be cool to do something interesting with all the extra disk space and bandwidth that I have. Why not? What’s the point of being your own boss if you’re not going to do what you want now and again, right?

So, I was sitting in front of my computer one afternoon, staring at all the extra hosting plans that I would normally sell to clients through my TouchBasic website when it hit me. I was wondering to myself, how was I ever going to use all of these resources that I had at my disposal? I wasn’t going to give it away for free, because I paid for these resources and that would just be bad business. I thought, I could have myself a weekly contest! It would be fun, it would draw attention, and most of all it would move more of my “inventory” (ie: disk space and bandwidth). I got to work on the idea and less than 24hrs later, WHW was born.
